Selected companies will be able to conduct real-world pilot programs operating directly inside Ashdod Port
ASHDOD, IL / ACCESS Newswire / December 15, 2025 / Ashdod Port, together with the Israel National Cyber Directorate, is issuing a new open call inviting cyber-focused startups to propose technologies and solutions for securing ports and the global maritime supply chain. Selected companies will be able to conduct real-world pilot programs operating directly inside Ashdod Port and within its international innovation environments. The final deadline for submission is December 27, 2025.
This initiative addresses the rapidly growing need to protect advanced maritime operational environments that increasingly rely on automation, digitization, and artificial intelligence. Cyber attacks can disrupt navigation systems, logistics platforms, operational workflows, and other critical systems that form essential links in the global trade ecosystem. Startups selected for the program will gain access to real operational environments, data, and strategic support, along with the possibility of equity investment from the Blue Ocean CVC technology fund, estimated together with partner funds at approximately 455 million USD.
This new call builds on a standout year of activity for Ashdod Port, which has completed more than 110 successful pilots through its maritime technology hub since its establishment, opened multiple international deployment tracks, and invested in technology companies advancing port operations, automation, security, training, connectivity, and cyber defense. Companies already operating within Ashdod Port's technological HUB include:
Azimut.ai - AI-based maritime situational awareness (investment after pilot: $650K)
SpinFrame - Automated vehicle damage detection
Makalu - LiDAR-based infrastructure scanning
Treedis - AR/VR-driven digital twins for training and operations
Enwize - AR/VR training and workforce enablement
Cyber 2.0 - Internal cyberattack containment across organizational networks
Flyz Robotics - Micro-drone robotic systems for monitoring and inspection
As ports worldwide adopt robotics, AI, and remote operations, cyber threats have the potential to harm crane operation systems, vessel identification and AIS services, logistics scheduling platforms, autonomous aerial systems, OT and ICS infrastructures, and data integrity across international trading networks. The new cyber track aims to create an integrated defensive layer that strengthens port resilience, national infrastructure, and the global maritime supply chain.
Shaul Schneider, Chairman of Ashdod Port:
"We are in an era where threats in the maritime domain are growing, particularly in the cyber arena as the maritime world becomes increasingly digital. When ships, cranes, logistics systems, and sensors are interconnected, cybersecurity becomes a fundamental requirement for national security. As a critical strategic asset, we have seen over the past two years that Ashdod Port must remain fully operational under all circumstances, even under attack and even under fire. Beyond the need for practical solutions, we see cyber technologies as a strategic growth driver, and we have the capability to provide startups with a real springboard into the international arena."
Nissan Levi, CEO of Ashdod Port:
"We are seeking technologies that demonstrate real operational value at port scale, and startups capable of providing advanced cyber solutions that help us maintain uninterrupted port operations, which, as we have experienced during recent challenges, is essential for Israel's economy. These solutions will strengthen the port, the Israeli economy, and the global supply chain."
Roy Avrahami, Head of the Maritime Technology HUB (Blue Ocean CVC):
"The support from the Israel National Cyber Directorate underscores the national importance of this initiative. Cyber innovation cannot be developed in a laboratory alone. The port provides startups with access to real systems, real data, real users, and real processes. We invite startups building technologies that can safeguard the future of maritime trade to come to Ashdod Port and prove it."
